Many years have passed since Renford “Rennie”Cogle began writing songs
During those years several “hit songs” were written by Rennie Cogle
and recorded by some of the world’s most famous recording artists such
as UB40,  Liz Mitchel and BoneyM,The Detroit Cobras, the late great
Eddie Lovett , also Joe Coleman of The Platters plus many more
internationally known singers.

Renford Cogle the award winning,and internationally famous songwriter
was born in the western section of Kingston Jamaica, in the Denham
Town area.Most of his education was achieved in Jamaica via Tweedside

portion of Rennie’s education aws funded by the Jamaican Government in

Miller.Rennie was later introduced to the reggae group known as The
Melodians which consisted of Brent Dowe,Tony Brevette
and Trevor McNaughton.Most of the rehearsals wer done at Greenwich
Farm behind the famous Majestic Theatre.Hits like Sweet Sensation,
Build Me Up,Down Here In Babylon Everybody Bawling, and Babylon Policy
with Brent Dowe as the lead singer
was well received internationally.
Ring Of Gold,Sweet Rose, PassionLove, Personally Speaking, with lead singer Tony
Brevette was heralded in many markets.
“Survival” by Marcia Griffiths is a song for the ages also
“Struggling” by Sharon Black the talented female singer from Stone
Mountain Georgia is regarded by many critics including Rennie Cogle as
a masterpiece which will be around for a very long time.
Rennie Cogle‘s accolade of success have been noticed  and endeared by
people from all walks of life as evidenced by him signing a publishing
contract with Universal Publishing Group formally Polygram
Records.Rennie’Back to School’Cogle as he is now called instead of
‘The Hit Man’ is the recipient of numerous awards.Two
time winner for song of the year( Sweet Sensation and Build Me Up
ICONS OF SOUL AWARD the Irawma award  Best Album Award plus many more.
Today many reggae music lovers speak of Rennie Cogle in the same
capacity as Bob Marley and Jimmy Cliff.He is currently enjoying
tremendous success in his writing and singing and the promotion of his
